Sinners (2025), Ryan Coogler’s fifth feature aims to position the vampire as the misguided champion of the oppressed. Set in the 1930s in the Jim Crow era, twin brothers Stack and Smoke (played by Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown in Mississippi to open a juke joint for their fellow townspeople. But little do they know what the music – performed by cousin Sammy (newbie Miles Caton) – attracts.
