JAVA ITINERARY (T&T)

Make your 2025 July-August Vacation in T&T with these recommendations.

Have you heard of CARICOM's 10-point plan for Reparatory Justice?

JAVA…for some people, these two months make the entire rest of the year worth every hardship and setback. It’s a time to relax, destress, and most importantly…LIME! As for the latter, there’s been so many places and activities popping up left and right that we think are definitely worth sharing for you to check out (NO gatekeeping over here). Hopefully, with this list, we can give you at least one recommendation that can turn some of your vacation into a movie!

1.The Box yard

Hailing from Central Trinidad, The Box Yard is one of the newer hangout spots that has hit the nation. It offers a variety of food options like pizza, grill, burgers and even coffee! However, it isn’t JUST a food court, as they also have pool boards, table tennis, an interactive Multiball screen to play different games on and much more.  Honestly, if you’re looking for good food (with very reasonable prices, ESPECIALLY their lunch specials) and a fun time in the same place, this could be a MUST visit for you and your friends.

2. The Alley

A bowling alley? In Trinidad? Yes, please! The Alley at East Gates, Trincity provides an experience that many didn’t even know they were missing out on. Bowling with friends or family is ALWAYS a fun time…unless you lose, of course. Even if you are having a bowling nightmare, though, there’s tasty food, a bar, and even a KARAOKE ROOM. They also have other games like a basketball hoop, mini bowling for the kids and virtual darts which can all be fun on their own. However, there’s two major caveats that must be mentioned, which are pricing and availability. Although you’d really struggle to find a place like this somewhere else, having a full experience (bowling + food + drinks) would really hurt a lot of people’s pockets, with the kind of prices that are offered. Additionally, you need to call WAY in advance if you want to secure a lane on a specific day and time, due to how popular The Alley has become since its birth. If you can look past these flaws, though, I’d say you’ll definitely have a great time there!

3. Bustrmrkt

The Caribbean Creative Industrial Revolution is near!

As a consumer, it’ll be a great place to check out some locally produced media And win variety of prizes by participating in the market play to win, watch to win and purchase to win! This is a new unique incentive for you to support local!

4. anime Cons

For all the lovers of anime, gaming, KPOP, cosplay or just pop culture in general out there that have never been to a convention before, take this as a sign…NOW is the time!  You can even take your pick, as there’s several to choose from. Galactakon, Alias Entertainment Expo and Kasai Con are the three most popular events of this nature that take place every summer and they all tend to be a pretty good time. Alias, in particular, is having what they call a “Golden Week”, where they have different activities planned for each day of the week, one of which being a pool party at Five Islands Water Park! Galactakon is hosting a KPOP dance party, as well as having a magic show starring Kess the Illusionist, and Kasai Con will be doing a “Kaiju Hunter Corps” event where they have con-goers participate in many fun activities based around monsters or Kaiju. These are only a few of the things you can expect from these conventions, as they have a little something for everybody, and apart from all the activities, it also serves and a wholesome and safe space for fans of these various media to come together and have a good time…we highly recommend!

In the mood for a bit of fun mystery and a night of suspense? For all the Nancy Drews and mystery incorporated crews looking for clues for an immersive murder-mystery experience right here in T&T, Murder Myster Xperience (MMX) is here! An independent organization is hosting exclusive sessions for intimate party-gatherings themed after a specially designed games reminiscent of live action Clue! or a more intricate game of Mafia. Featuring supplied props, storylines, inventive characters and an assigned host, there’s guarantee for a night filled with nail-biting thrills, nervous laughter, potential trauma bonding and of course a lil lighthearted ol’ murder.

5. Social sports

Sports fans! We haven’t forgotten about you. If your idea of fun is hitting a ball with your friends, these are the places for you. Sixes Social provides a unique experience for all cricket enjoyers out there, providing you and your group with a batting net fashioned with a virtual bowler that sends a real ball at you for you to hit for SIX. It’s also a nice hangout spot with food and drinks for everyone located in One Woodbrook Place. Swing and Skallywag Bay both tackle golf in two different ways. Skallywag does real life mini gold, with a superb 18-hole course that would certainly serve as a fantastic day out in Chaguaramas. Meanwhile Swing, located in Port of Spain, is a virtual adventure. Not only can you play a on their state-of-the-art golf simulator, they also have other games that you can play virtually, as well as a menu for all to enjoy (be careful though, this one is on the pricier side!).

So these are our top things to do this JAVA! Let us know what you think! Did we miss anything?
